Saturday

leafI liked how this little leaf was stacked perfectly inside the big leaf.

1) On my way to the farmers’ market today I saw children riding ponies, two men in kilts, and a man on rollerblades pushing a stroller while carrying a second baby strapped to his back.

2) Right outside our building, an older woman named Nora stopped to say hello to Ellie and tell me about her life. When she was very young in Northern Ireland, she managed a post office in a place “where the sea swept all around.” Now she lives in Sunset Park. She moved to New York in her 20s to work on Wall Street, and her very first New York apartment had a ghost who made her bed shake at night, but since she was from Ireland it didn’t bother her very much because she was used to ghosts.
